Law center questions Homeland Security's classifications of 'extremists'

The Thomas More Law Center is asking the Department of Homeland Security to explain why it classifies "Americans who oppose abortion, support 2nd Amendment gun rights and dislike lax immigration law enforcement" extremists, WorldNetDaily reported. The question stems from a right wing extremism report that alerted police to these American "extremists."
The Thomas More Law Center of Ann Arbor, Mich., says it has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of Homeland Security demanding why it calls Americans who oppose abortion, support 2nd Amendment gun rights and dislike lax immigration law enforcement "extremists."

"This is not an intelligence report but a diatribe against those who oppose the policies of the Obama administration," said Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel for the organization.

"It is a declaration of war against the American people and our constitution. It is a prelude to extreme gun control legislation and hate speech laws targeting Christian churches and others who oppose abortion and same sex marriage," he continued. "The federal government should be focusing its attention on the 35 radical Muslim compounds in the U.S. training its followers on how to kidnap and kill Americans."

I think it's a good question to ask, but I don't think you've read the whole report and have been swayed by the right-wing slant of World Net Daily. WND is not, by any stretch, a respected news source and you can't trust what they say. Take a look http://bit.ly/nURsS

You need to read the report they're referring to yourself and find out if what they think the report says is really what it said.

It is written in the report in Black and White letters, there is no grey matter, what it says is what it is. There is no misinterpretation. Why make World Net Daily appear biased or one sided when they make what is hidden known to the American public, to protect or motivate American Citizens. World Net Daily has proven to bring obscure data to the forefront for all to see, know, and investigate for themselves. What is indicated as right wing slant may also be known as removing slivers from the eyes of those who cannot see. Unless you have walked in the shoes of those who have personally suffered being targeted, you are only going on "what you think," and heresay. Thinking something, is not happening is different from actually experiencing it. Do you know why large ammunition manufacturing companies and gun shops are shutting down? Are you aware of certain "targeted" American citizens being victimized by the actual "terrorist groups?" No, you will perceive things differently once you speak to someone or know someone who has lived it. What good is knowledge without personal experience, it is like a plumber talking about brain surgery. That is a lame example, no offense to any profession, but you understand the concept.
